I found this vacation package deal to south africa on the internet that sounds really good http://www.sharesouthafrica.com/specials/safari-and-garden-route
Flight tickets are a bit expensive but overall it looks like good value. Any suggestions?
Thanks for the suggestions so far. I think I will be combining 2 packages from http://www.sharesouthafrica.com
From some other comments I think I want to do the following: Stay 3 days in Cape Town at the Radisson Hotel - Then on a Mini Safari neat Cape Town for 2 days. After that I want to drive to Knysna to make use of the travel deal and from there I might fly to Kruger. I have flown with Quatar before but won’t again. I booked my flights in advanced last time and the canceled a the flight without letting me know :(. Using Ethiad this time from Geneva
I Searched on this site and got the Cheapest Deals,Check it out,it also had Discount Coupon Codes for Expedia,Travelocity, Orbitz,Priceline, etc.

South Africa is still a good deal.
But it is hardly the bargain it was in the 1990s when the country first opened up to mass tourism. This is especially true for American travelers because of the dollar’s decline.
If this were my first time in South Africa, I would spend it in Cape Town rather than Port Elizabeth because the former is more cosmopolitan and tourist friendly. Though there are no decent game reserves near Cape Town. And those that call themselves as such are basically glorified zoos. The most stereotypically "African" environment - grassy, dry, and vast savannah with lots of animals roaming about - is at the Kruger National Park. However, if you want to see the animals in a semi-natural state and go to the beach at the same time, then Port Elizabeth is a fine choice.
Unless you plan to drive a rental car, you’d probably save more money if you found a tour that covered transportation as well. There is no reliable public transport system in South Africa. And hiring a car and driver on your own will cost a considerable amount of money. It is best to have that taken cared of before you leave for South Africa.

Yes South Africa is good value for money. Dont know where you are flying from. Try Qatar airlines. I found them brilliant and a lot cheaper than most airlines. That was to and from UK to SA. I dont agree with the person above saying there is no reliable transport. They do have buses which run on a regular basis. Plus you could arrange a trip with one of our many travel agents to visit Kruger National Park. It is a 1800km journey. They dont have a train service as we have in the UK (unfortunately).
