We’re thinking of going on vacation to Capetown next year. Is it safe? How much do safaris cost? What are some great things to see?

Uhm, yes. It’s safer than you think it is.
PLEASE don’t go under the misconception that we have a) lions in our streets or b) there are people waiting to attack and maul you around every corner.
Cape Town is as dangerous as every other city in the world may or may not be. Honestly.

I don’t think you will be able to get any safaris in Cape Town- they are more up north at the Kruger National Park and the Kalahari Oorgrens Park. So unless you plan to travel to the other side of the country, you won’t find any wild animals.
I do know of a Lion park somewhere next to the N2 between Cape Town and Somerset West (I think it’s there…) though, so maybe you can go there- just find out from your tour guide EXACTLY where it is. In Cape Town you can go see things such as: Table Mountain (and go on top of it with the cable car), go to the V&A Waterfront, Kirtsenbosch Botanical Gardens, All the beaches, Jan van Riebeeck’s castle, the Company Gardens, Long Street… etc etc etc

Cape Town has a lot of fun things to visit and enjoy! :)
Just ask your tour guide!
